Voke with kindness for our community. If you have a lot then vote for those that don't. There is enough to share. My book, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻, is the culmination of my career as a psychologist and provides a wonderful bookend to my career. It gives me great pleasure to see the finale of my life as a psychologist held by June, who was present way back in the beginning. I hope she sees the ripple of her work through the pages. Yesterday was another fabulous day at the Brisbane Writers Festival and I came home exhausted. Wonderful reflections from the day: I have spent the day in my happy place - the Brisbane Writers Festival @brisbwritersfest. It's always such a wonderful feast of ideas and inspiration. Today I reflected on: 𝑴𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓'𝒔 𝑫𝒂𝒚 is coming up but not all mothers want chocolates, perfume, and flowers. Some mothers may want a gritty, hard-hitting book that explores trauma, social justice issues and the impact of institutional abuse. 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏: 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒎𝒆 𝑵𝒐 10 𝒂𝒕 𝑵𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒌𝒐𝒍 𝑶𝒓𝒑𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆 is not an easy read but it is thought-provoking and enlightening. How do you know how to be a mum when you spent 10 years in an orphanage? 𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿! 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆, 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹. Secret Santa came early and gave we just the right gift. A cup that reads Mother, Partner, Friend, Psychologist and AUTHOR! What an amazing year. Samilya Bjelic and Anne Moorhouse have appreciated the many friends and family who have purchased our book and provided us with amazing feedback. Thank you. Please don't stop there. We need your help to get 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻: 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟬 𝗮𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗸𝗼𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 into the hands of many more readers. So I have decided to do a series of tips on how you can help us.
